Dickenson County Chamber announces, “Countywide Scarecrow Contest”!! Take a WanderLOVE Driving Tour of all the Scarecrows in Dickenson County and Cast your vote!!!
Help us spruce up our Towns and County for Fall!!! Put your very own designed Scarecrow in front of your business or in the window!!
The Dickenson County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2020 SCARECROW CONTEST opened to all businesses, organizations, and schools in the county.
It is FREE to participate. The Chamber will help promote your scarecrow and your business by sharing your photo on our social media posts, press releases and an online gallery and voting poll. To vote, post your favorite on social media with #dickensoncountychamber. We will be presenting several prizes and for online voting, it will be the People’s Choice award. We will be judging all who register for the prizes and each entrant will be given a number with the name of their scarecrow. The Chamber will be coming by the businesses and taking photos of the scarecrows.
Need some inspiration??
Gather your ideas and materials- Use some old clothes and a fun t-shirt. Stuff it with hay and call it a day or step it up by coming up with a theme to match your business. Waiter Scarecrow for your restaurant or wrap it up with gauze to make a mummy day at the spa scarecrow..get the idea??
Make sure you register with the Chamber so we will know who is participating. You can call us, email, or send a message on Facebook so we can give you a number and add you to our list.
Promote your scarecrow by sharing posting and make it go viral!! Encourage others to participate so we have an army of scarecrows to really make this fun!! The more we have, the more visitors we will attract to come to your shops and businesses. The chamber will be advertising the contest via press releases, social media, email, and print advertising.
Be a Winner!! From October 1st through November 2nd, the Scarecrow Contest will gather votes, track social media check-ins, shares, and activity to select the contest winners. Various prizes will be awarded to the best scarecrow and to the patrons who visit the most scarecrows.
Our top prize winner will be receiving a basket of goodies plus a $50. Membership Certificate to our chamber.
