Austin Bradley - Park Superintendent

The Breaks Interstate Park is located at 627 Commission Dr, Breaks, Virginia. This park is unique in that it is one of only two Interstate parks in the country, being shared between Kentucky and Virginia. It features one of the deepest gorges east of the Mississippi River, carved out by the roaring Russell Fork River. The park offers access to astounding natural beauty with miles of hiking trails and several scenic overlooks, all while providing comfortable lodging and camping areas nestled into the forest.

Through the prime season, we host a wide variety of events from gospel singing to car shows, and our own interpretive programs, including guided hikes, nature activities, crafts, history programs, and many more. The Breaks is also expanding its adventure tourism. The Canyon Rim Zipline has been a huge hit and we are currently in the process of making the Breaks a rock climbing destination that both beginning and advanced climbers will not want to miss.

The Rhododendron Restaurant is open from the end of March through November. However, our lodging and gift shop are open year-round, so be sure to stop by and see us! We also have a winter special going on from now until February 28th. Buy one night get one free on all cabins and cottages, so plan a getaway by calling the park at (276) 865-4413.
